How(e)s Saskatoon?

Rain on the windshield headed south-east

Rainy, that’s how! We pulled into Saskatoon and found a spot to spend a couple nights at the Gordon Howe Campground. For those who are not so much into hockey, Gordie Howe is one of Canada’s most well-known hockey legends – next to Wayne Gretzky.

Although Gordie Howe was not born in Saskatoon, he moved there when he was a child. Everything here is named after Mr. Howe – the campground we stayed in, the local hockey rink, the lacrosse arena, a bridge, and maybe even a restaurant or two. I’m not so sure about the last part –  other than the day we arrived, it was so rainy we didn't get out much in Saskatoon.

The Gordon Howe Campground itself was quite nice, but shortly after we arrived, there was a major water main break, so we were without water for the two days we stayed. Thankfully, the RV water tank was full, and there was still water to the main building at the campground. We were able to do our three loads of laundry. How on earth can two people have so much laundry in just a couple weeks on the road?

Geiser!

We did manage to get the curtain we wanted to sew made. So glad I decided to bring my little antique Featherweight, Ethel, along with us. She finished the job beautifully!

Me and Ethel, hard at work

Wrinkly, but complete!

Since we didn’t see much of Saskatoon this time around, here's a picture of the hockey legend himself, along with Canada's other hockey great. (There's a statue of him in the city, but we didn't try to find it.)
